ViewSonic VP2250wb

ViewSonic VP2250wb
Pro image quality at a reasonable price

FOR THOSE WHO WANT a 22-inch monitor that can properly reproduce colros but who can't justify the stratospheric price commanded by some models, the $599 ViewSonic VP2250wb offers some welcome middle ground.
The Vp2250wb won't win any beauty contests, but it is distinguished by the flexible stand that lets you adjust the height, pivot the screen orientation, and tilt and swivel the panel.
The VP2250wb has a native resolution of 1,680x1,050, and ViewSonic says the monitor covers 106 percent of the NTSC gamut. Other specs include a pixel pitch of .28 millimeters, gray-to-gray response time of 2 miliseconds, a brightness of 300 candelas per square meter, and a contrast ratio of 1,000-to-1.
Unlike other high-end monitors, the Vp2250wb may not have enough of the features that appeto professionals. It can't ndle full 1080p resolution and there's no HDMI connectivity.
If you are a graphics pro who can overlook those issues or a consumer who wants grat color when viewing Web sites, games, and DVDs, the Vp2250wb delivers. In our DisplayMate tests, the monitor performed strongly. Our only criticism is that the VP2250wb is just a tad weak in the extreme dark end of the grayscale tests and a reproducing pinks at the extreme light end.
Movies looked grat; we didn't notice any annoying noise or artifacts, and the color quality was rich and warm. Black levels were good. Picture quality was also good when we loaded up a game, and although we encountered the occasional clipping, it was nothing that would distract from the game.-Les L. Shu
